This trip is a special trip for anybody who is staying in Surabaya City and they don’t have so much time in East Java but want to visit Mount Ijen. So here, we have a good itinerary that you can read as your preference before visiting Mount Ijen from Surabaya. You just need 2 days and 1 night to conquer this volcano, but it’s a long drive from Surabaya to Mount Ijen, it takes about 7-8 hours in total but it will be shorter if we stay in Bondowoso town on the first day.
Itinerary
00:30: Start driving to Paltuding (the Start Point of the Trekking) 02:00: Trekking to Ijen Crater/Kawah Ijen/ Mount Ijen
The trekking will take about 1 – 2 hours, depending on your fitness. Upon your arrival at the top of the crater, you will be invited to see the most famous natural phenomenon of blue fire. But to see closer, you must go down into the crater of Kawah Ijen. It’s pretty dangerous, so if you feel doubt about going down, we suggest staying on the top while waiting for the sunrise. (Note: Go down to the crater is not allowed by the Ijen Park, but if you want to go, it will be your own risk, so we recommend listening to our guide when you go down to the crater)
05:30: Sunrise Time 07:00: Go down to the parking place 08:00: Driving back to the Banyuwangi town, arriving around 9-30 am TOUR’S FINISHED
